I’ve long wanted to see Niagara Falls up close, the immense power of what seems like an unimaginable amount of water going over the edge every second of every day. However, my reference point (like many I would assume) is Superman II (1980). 40 years later and the surrounding area (the Canadian side) is very built up and commercialized, but the falls are as they were, powerful and spectacular. I suspect it may have been the time of year, but it was busy and the spray from the water reaches far. It is worth going down below to the viewing areas and to the power station tunnels, especially at night. Although, the best and seaming least popular thing was to visit them at sunrise. From the closest viewing area next to the edge of the falls, the sun rises behind the mist and lights up the water as it cascades over the edge. We didn’t get to go on the Lady of the Mist but did explore everything else surrounding the falls. Will have to see what the USA side has to offer next time!
